Beyond Loaves and Fishes: Matthew Week 12

On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, we continue our exploration of Matthew, beginning with a continuation of Matthew 14:34-36: when Jesus and the disciples encounter the people Gennesaret, who are much more inclined to accept Jesus' help than were the people of his own hometown. The Pharisees will increase their resistance yet again, and much more, all with applications for life in today's complicated world. More to come. Subscribe and join us.

In my opening remarks, there's one thing I'd like to clarify. You are going to pick and choose among some of the interpretations presented. Christians don't get the choice of picking and choosing among scriptures they like and don't. Those they have to grapple with in their entirety and in context. It is a challenge. Peace, Pastor Jeff Snyder

Beyond Loaves and Fishes: Matthew Week 7

We were working our way through chapters 8 through 12 tonight. We see how Jesus changed outsiders to insiders through a variety of compassionate and healing acts for everyone from demoniacs to the servant of a centurion. Different people took these miracles differently, some awed and others irate. Come and see.

We have some work to do on lighting. This is a work in progress. Bear with us.

Against All Expectations

Sermon based on Matthew 14:13-21, in which we discover just how completely Jesus will defy our limited expectations where we are willing to work with him. There is a challenge here for us all.

More Than We Think

Sermon based on Matthew 14:13-21. Jesus, in the feeding of the five thousand (plus), shows us there is a better way to live than in fear that there will not be enough for each of us in this world. That fear is currently killing people. Listen for a different way, the way of God's kingdom, and be liberated.

Of Bread and Water

Exploring the significance of Jesus' miracles of the feeding of the 5000 and walking on the water for today's people. Based on John 6:1-21. Also, the video begins with a gaff ... the projector was not working properly with my remote and I had to make adjustments before I could continue. I considered editing this short gaff out, but emphasize in services that we are not perfect people. While we strive to do well as Christ followers, we do not expect perfection from each other and we accept when things go wrong and move on. Hopefully, you will do the same and be gentle with yourself when you are less than perfect. Wishing you all a blessed day.

Celebrating Weakness

Sermon focusing on Paul's weakness and God's use of that weakness from 2 Corinthians 12:2-10. If you stick with it, toward the end is a call for Christians to come together against injustice, letting Jesus' love shine through us and God's strength use us.

The Lord Is With You

A Christmas message of hope, strength, and belief in the miraculous ... in other words, a message we need all year 'round. Wishing you all peace, hope, and the strong belief of Mary, Jesus' Mom, now and always.
