Beyond Loaves and Fishes: Judges: Week 5

Tuesday night, May 21, 2019, at 8 p.m. we picked up with the cliff hanger from last week. We discover how an enemy general gets the point from a neutral party in Chapter 4, and hear the poetic version in Chapter 5. We invite you to watch and to join us on Tuesday evenings. ~Rev. Jeff Snyder

Beyond Loaves and Fishes: Judges: Week 2

Tonight we plunged into the book of Judges seriously. The book is designed to challenge safe assumptions and present us with alternative ideas. Come and watch!

Personal note: It is always tricky to make off the cuff remarks at the start. I know full well it was Notre Dame Cathedral that burned ... but I said the Louvre ... based on something I'd read earlier and was rattling around in my head. I will confess my first inclination was not to share this live stream or to edit that embarrassing slip away ... but, being an admittedly fallible human being as well as a pastor, you might as well see the mistakes and know I'm going to make more as we go along. Let's hear it for transparency.

We'll all need to give each other grace instead of judgment, especially in challenging times like these. Honestly, I'm still in emotional turmoil over the Notre Dame Cathedral fire and the arson committed against three African-American churches. I'm also entirely sure I mispronounced the names of some of the many tribes resident in the land. The first two chapters were some pretty interesting reads. Just wait until we get to chapter 3!
