Do Not Be Afraid

Fear leads to hoarding. Hoarding leads to not loving neighbors and not sharing with others, breaking one great commandment ... perhaps two if you think about it. Learn how to liberate ourselves from hoarding stuff and acting like the rich fool of the parable. Life is a lot sweeter when we are fearless, bold, and live this little life of ours to the fullest. This is the sermon for August 11, 2019, based on Luke 12:32-40. Come and see what that means and how it's done. All are welcome. Join us Sunday mornings at Lansdowne Baptist Church in Lansdowne, PA, if you are in the area.

Stewardship with Dirt Under Our Nails

Sunday sermon following Earth Day, based on Genesis 2:15 & Leviticus 19:9-10. We look at the creation story to see what is intended in our relationship between God and humanity. Leviticus helps us with our relations between each other. The menorah was lit in solidarity with the synagogue congregants in San Diego who were attacked, and with all who have suffered violence in their sacred spaces. Watch and see what is to be discovered through this riveting tale.

Beyond Loaves and Fishes: Ruth Week 6 & Judges Week 1

Tuesday night, April 9, 2019, we wrapped up our study of the book of Ruth and moved on to the book of Judges. This is a real challenge as Judges deals with a time of turmoil for Israel, when the nation is edging toward monarchy. It is written for Israelites in exile to offer them hope as well, looking back at where they had been for explanation of how they arrived at where they are. It challenges a lot of comfy assumptions with challenging questions. Come and watch!

What Price?

Our sermon today was based on John 12:1-8. We explore how generous Mary, sister of Martha and Lazarus, was in her anointing of Jesus. We explore how we may be equally generous with others, and why we should do so. Come and watch.

How Do We Value and Express Generosity?

Here is a thought provoking article from American Baptist Churches USA asking us how we value and express generosity in the world  today. It is an article by Marcia Shetler well worth our time and consideration today. You will find this article at: http://www.abc-usa.org/2018/09/17/how-much-do-you-value-generosity/

It is well worth all of our prayerful consideration. This could transform our lives if we follow through.
