No Grudges Sermon 9 13 2020

This is the sermon from September 13, 2020, based on Genesis 45:3-11, 15. It is the story of Joseph as the second most powerful official in Egypt encountering his brothers, who had sold him into slavery as a child, who had come to him hat in hand seeking food for their families during a famine. They don't know who Joseph is but Joseph recognizes them. Will Joseph hold a grudge? Will he seek revenge? What does that matter to us? Come, watch, and find out. All are welcome.

Sunday Worship July 12 2020

Worship service for Sunday, July 12, 2020, in which we examined the lives of two fueding brothers Esau and Jacob from Genesis 25:22-34. We see how God takes an active role in human history, encouraging us to move toward a fuller, richer life walking more closely with God while never removing from us our freedom to choose. It is a complicated story with complicated applications to life in this world today. We sang favorite hymns and shared our joys and concerns.

If you with to support our ministries through an offering we will gladly accept it and put it to good use. Please make your check out to Lansdowne Baptist Church and send it by mail to Lansdowne Baptist Church, 17 E. LaCrosse Avenue, Lansdowne, PA 19050.

All are welcome and invited to join our Sunday services. This week we had to record the entire service as our live streaming computer wore out. Hopefully it will be replaced in time for next Sunday's service.

Beyond Loaves and Fishes: Malachi Week 2

We nearly finished the last of our three minor prophets tonight, the
prophet Malachi. He lived when the Temple in Jerusalem was rebuilt.
During the rebuilding phase, all sorts of ideas developed about how
wonderful life would be once the Temple was back in operation and how
much humans would change as well. It didn't happen that way and Malachi
helps his people deal with that, change their expectations, and calls
them to work for the change they want. Looks like we'll have one more
week and then we'll take a summer vacation and return in the fall. Join
us. Or enjoy watching this later. All are welcome.

this live stream began. We picked up with Chapter 2, verses 10-19 of
this two chapter book. From there we moved on to Malachi and how that prophet dealt with people's disappointment when the rebuilding of the Temple does not live up to expectations. Join us. Or enjoy watching this later. All are welcome.

A short message concerning what we can do together to assist our African

American brothers and sisters to push back against the sin of racism so

deeply baked into our society. It's a message of encouragement for

everyone and a call to action.

Bible Study: Micah, Week 1

This week we begin our exploration of the Old Testament Prophets with
the minor prophet Micah. We begin with a review of the history of the
prophets and where Micah comes in the long line of prophets that spans
1000+ years of the history of Israel. The job changed over the centuries as
the fortunes of the Israelite's changed. What does any of that have
to do with us. Come and see.

God's Double Portion

The sermon for Sunday, June 16, 2019, Father's Day, was based on 2 Kings 2:1-2, 6-14. This is the story of Elijah and Elisha, two faithful prophets of God in the 9th century BC. Elijah will pass the mantle of authority on to Elisha, to continue God's work in the world. We are called to work faithfully as well in God's service. Doing so, we receive from God a double portion of spiritual blessings to enable us to continue our work as faithfully as Elijah and Elisha. Come, watch, and see.
