The One



Here is the sermon for Sunday, December 15, 2019, the third Sunday in Advent. The sermon is based on Matthew 11:2-11 and deals with our expectations ... and how disappointed we are when expectations remain unmet. Jesus wasn't interested in meeting human expectations for the Messiah, a kingdom bringer, a royal Messiah of might. Jesus had other ideas. Now we are challenged by the reality of Jesus versus our expectations. Do we accept Jesus as "the one" on his own terms?
