Living Differently

Sermon based on Luke 6:27-31, in which we are called to love our enemies, among other things. Jesus calls us to live very differently from how instinct and culture has long called us to live. Following Jesus' message here, we can work to break the cycle of violence and revenge in our communities. Watch and learn how

Blessed Are You

Sermon based on Luke 6:20-23, Jesus' Sermon on the Plain. It is a Black History Month inspired sermon calling for all of us to join together in our wondrous diversity, to knit together a strong community of faith that supports everyone, at every phase of life. Come and watch.

Sermon for Sunday, February 24, 2019

On Sunday morning at 11 a.m., the sermon will cover Jesus' challenge to love our neighbors, treat others as we would want to be treated, and be merciful as your Father is merciful. Well, that's a tall order! How do we do that. Just what does Jesus mean by all this anyway? Want to know? Come on by and worship with us. You'll see.

All are welcome. See you soon.

Have a Warm and Wonderful Weekend

Put aside the week's adventures and relax. Enjoy this weekend. Stay dry. Join us for church on Sunday morning at 11 a.m., when we will be exploring what Jesus meant when he said "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you." There's more to it than you might think!

Annual Feast: Free Community Dinner, 2019

On Saturday, April 6, 2019, join Lansdowne Baptist Church upstairs in Westphal Hall for our Annual Feast, our free community dinner where we all gather to break bread together. The dinner will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. that day. Please contact the church office and let us know who you are and how many people you are bringing so we can be sure to have enough food for everyone. We look forward to seeing you again this year ... or to meeting you for the first time. Wonderful food and fellowship. All are welcome.

Beyond Loaves and Fishes: Matthew Week 22

Tuesday, February 19, 2019, we began with Matthew 27:57-61, in which Joseph of Arimathea recovers the crucified body of Jesus. We move on from there to the utter transformation of human history and the first evangelists of the resurrection. Concluding the book of Matthew with a call to all Christ followers in every age, we moved on to introduce the book of Ruth from the Old Testament. There will be many pressing questions to explore in this evocative short book. Join us. Peace, Rev. Jeff Snyder

Beyond Loaves and Fishes: Matthew Week 21

On Tuesday night, February 12, 2019, we begin with Matthew 27, beginning with Simon the man from Cyrene, carrying Jesus' cross to the hill. It was an exciting evening ... also one with challenges as I had a sinus infection, medication, and Sherry was not at home. Our 16-year-old somewhat demented beagle could get up to tremendous mischief it she had decided to. Join us now and see how it all worked out. Peace, Rev. Jeff Snyder
