Our Job Never Changes: Sermon for November 6, 2016

Sermon based on Matthew 22:36-40, the greatest commandments. No matter the situation (even in a contentious election season), Christians are called to love God and neighbor. Doing so transforms the lives of those who attempt this very tall order and those who are on the receiving end of that love. Give it a try. Jesus challenges you to do so.

One small correction: reference to a "Roman Candle" should be a fountain.

LBC Christmas Fair, December 3, 2016

On December 3rd this year, we will be having our annual Christmas Fair. There will be many items for sale from Grandma's Attic, unique crafts and decorations, terrific food at our bake sale, a hot lunch from our cafe, and some really exciting items being auctioned at our annual silent auction. We all look forward to serving our community and raising funds so we can do more to support our community in the upcoming year.

Join us for the fun and Christmas goodies of all sorts. We look forward to seeing you there. The fair will run from 10 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon.

There will be a tantalizing preview on Friday evening, December 2nd, from 5 to 7 p.m. One really early visitor (one of our volunteers) had a pre-preview and really liked what was seen. See you there!

Setting Clocks Back for November 6, 2016

Please remember that it is time to "fall back" an hour for Sunday, November 6, 2016. Set your clocks back an hour on Saturday night as 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning becomes 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning on November 6th.

Set that clock back so you won't be at church extra early on Sunday morning.

The Bible text for Sunday will be Matthew 22:36-40 and the sermon title is "Our Job Never Changes." Congregants of Lansdowne Baptist, invite your friends. This will be an important message. If you do not have a church of your own, if you are a seeker after Christ, come and join us on Sunday morning. We'll be delighted to have you worship with us. You will be most welcome.
