A small men's group in our church, guiding our church's youth in planting (and soon in harvest), have seen to it that this year Lansdowne Baptist Church has five raised bed gardens in our side yard facing the Lansdowne Avenue. We are so impressed with God's great abundance displayed in the many vegetables and flowers coming out of those garden beds.
We were pleased to be able to donate two baskets of vegetables (not quite but almost our first fruit from these beds)--tomatoes, egg plants, cucumbers, and green peppers--to the Interfaith Food Cupboard. We look forward to doing more with the harvest as the season moves forward. Today's harvest was a very small portion of what is ripening on the plants.
As the psalmist wrote in Psalm 67:6-7: "The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, has blessed us. May God continue to bless us; let all the ends of the earth revere him."
