Tax Services for Seniors and Others with Limited Incomes
I have recently been asked if tax services are available for seniors on fixed incomes. There is good news in this regard, the answer is YES. In fact, this is good news for all those with limited incomes of under $53,000 a year.
Here is a link to the IRS's explanation of their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, found across the US. This site will explain the program and help you find a location near you. See: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Free-Tax-Return-Preparation-for-You-by-Volunteers
As Matthew 7:7-8 states: 7“Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened."

Join Us For Easter Sunday
Lansdowne Baptist Church will be celebrating Jesus' triumph over death and the very worst humanity could throw at him. He triumphed for all of us, past, present, and future. If you do not have a church home and will be in the area, we encourage you to join us in our celebration. Favorite hymns will be sung, Scripture will be read, and a rousing sermon will be given. You will be met by a warm and welcoming congregation.
Be careful though, the joy of Easter is highly contagious.
See you Sunday.

Rubbish to Righteousness
Sermon based on Philippians 3:4-14, in which Paul relates what he gave up and gained to follow Jesus. The question is, what will we be willing to set aside to follow? What will we gain? Listen and find out.

Thank You For Your Kindness
For someone who started this being extremely self conscious of my less than stellar handwriting, wondering if it would have any positive impact, I have to say, those were uplifting words for me. Thank you!
Join Us for Palm Sunday
You are invited to join us here at Lansdowne Baptist Church this Palm Sunday, March 20th, to celebrate Jesus' triumphal arrival in Jerusalem at 11:00 am. We hope to see you here ... snow or no snow! All are welcome!
Here's a prayer for a little Palm Sunday uplift (you might want to say this one out loud ... or in a group out loud ... come on, it's fun):

Sovereign God, brighten our spirits and open our mouths so that we may sing your praises throughout this day of joy. All who know of your healing power shout, Hosanna! All who know of your passion for justice shout, Hosanna! All who know of your patient mercy shout, Hosanna! All who know of your wondrous love shout, Hosanna! Let everything that breathes shout, Hosanna! Let even the stones shout, Hosanna! Blessed be the One who comes in the name of the Lord! Amen!

Choices
A sermon based on Luke 15:1-3, 11-32, the most familiar story in the entire Bible, the so-called Story of the Prodigal Son. In an age rife with mistrust and division, Jesus offers us an alternative to consider during Lent ... and for the rest of our lives. Watch, and decide.
Turn Around and Change
Based on Luke 13:1-9, Jesus turns us away from unanswerable "why" questions when disaster strikes and toward a positive, useful response that will improve us. How will we respond in Lent, and throughout our lives?
